Stof je harp, bloemenkrans en luchtige gewaden maar weer af, want ze is terug! Florence + The Machine dropte vorige week ineens een nieuwe track: 'Sky Full Of Song'. Die staat nu op de 3FM playlist, maar dat is niet het enige goede nieuws. Florence rende ook nog eens het podium op bij Arcade Fire voor een verrassingsoptreden!

Afgelopen weekend stoof Florence het podium op bij Arcade Fire, tijdens een concert in het Londense Wembley Stadium. Gek genoeg niét om haar nieuwe nummer te spelen, maar voor een echte classic: 'Dog Days Are Over'. Arcade Fire verzorgde de muziek, Florence regelde de vocalen en karakteristieke huppeltjes!
Toen Florence dit nummer schreef, luisterde ze veel naar het album Funeral van Arcade Fire. In een tweet legt ze uit hoe ze zich verbonden voelt met de band: "I wanted to at least try and make a song that could be in any way as beautiful....I don’t know if I succeeded, but to play it with them last night was a dream come true. Arcade Fire changed the way I wanted to make music and I will be forever grateful to them x"
Sky Full Of Song
De nieuwe single van Florence + The Machine is relatief rustig, er zit zelfs hier en daar weer een vleugje harp in verstopt. Florence over de track: "Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it's hard to know how to come down. There's a feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly, wanting somebody to hold you still and bring you back to yourself. It's an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling."
