De band maakt naast de releasedatum ook alvast de tracklist van het album Codes And Keys bekend.
Death Cab For A Cutie komt eind mei met hun zevende studioalbum. De 30e van die maand is het zover, dan komt het uit. De titel was al bekend, Codes And Keys. Op de cover van het album staat een groot hashtag-teken, dat meer opvalt dan de titel zelf. Het ‘hashtag-album’ wordt de opvolger van Narrow Stairs uit 2008, maar waarschijnlijk gaat deze nieuwe wel anders klinken dan de voorganger. Het verschil zit hem voornamelijk in de gitaren.
Geluid van Codes And Keys
Dit is wat frontman Ben Gibbard er in december over zei: "Oh, there are definitely guitars on this record, there are just less of them than before and we’re using them in different ways this time. Ben was really inspired by writing on acoustic guitar and on a piano, so often those parts become voices or keyboard lines, rather than guitar parts."
