Tom Odell brengt in april 2013 zijn debuutalbum uit

Singer-songwriter Tom Odells debuutalbum Long Way Down verschijnt 15 april op het label van Lily Allen.

Long Way Down heet het eerste album van de Britse singer-songwriter Tom Odell en staat gepland voor 15 april. Op het album staan 10 nummers, waaronder zijn voormalige 3FM Megahit 'Another Love'. Later volgt er nog een deluxe edition.

Tom Odell wil geen perfect album

Tom vertelt NME dat hij hoopt dat het album menselijk voelt. Het moet nog foutjes bevatten en niet perfect zijn. "Because the flaws help make it what it is. Really, I’d love to live in a time when music felt uncontrived and imperfect and gave people a real sense of elevation. When it’s sad I want it to be really sad. When it’s happy I want it to feel euphoric…I suppose I want the record to express the heightened feelings and emotions we all get in our lives."

Long Way Down verschijnt op Lily Allens label In The Name Of. Lily is geen groot fan van het singer-songwriters genre maar Tom wist haar meteen te raken. "I'm not usually a massive fan of singer-songwriter stuff, but when I saw him live his energy onstage reminded me of David Bowie. It's not soppy and moany at all, it's energetic and insightful. And he's totally gorgeous as well! Blond hair and blue eyes, and simply just lovely."
