In een interview met BBC 6 Music heeft David Gilmour laten weten dat The Endless River het laatste Pink Floyd-album is.
Drummer Nick Mason en zanger David Gilmour spraken met radiostation BBC 6 Music over hun nieuwe album, dat uitkomt in november. Beide leden zijn het erover eens dat er na The Endless River geen nieuwe muziek meer van Pink Floyd verschijnt. Gilmour zei: "This is the last thing that'll be out from us."
"It's a shame but this is the end"
De vraag werd gesteld door radiopresentator Matt Everitt. Gilmour voegde aan zijn antwoord toe: "Well Rick's gone, dead. I'm pretty certain that there will not be a follow up to this. Polly, my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on it. It's a shame but this is the end," aldus de zanger van de Britse rockband, die in 1964 werd opgericht.
Rick Wright sessies
De kans bestaat dat er nog een paar muzieksessies van toetsenist Rick Wright, die overleed in 2008, verschijnen op het soloalbum van Gilmour. "I have a little bit of Rick playing from my solo stuff that will hopefully appear on my next solo album, but not a Pink Floyd album."
