Coldplay eert Amy Winehouse met cover

Coldplay stond afgelopen weekend op het Splendour In The Grass festival. Tijdens de intro van ‘Fix You’ zette frontman Chris Martin het refrein van Amy’s grote hit Rehab in. Het publiek volgde hem al snel.

In de blog op de bandsite schreef Coldplay's mysterieuze Roadie #42 over de show: “Later, Fix You brought us from the celebration of birth to the acknowledgement of a tragic death. There’s little that can be said about Amy Winehouse’s passing that hasn’t already been said. It’s just such a sad waste. We’ll leave aside the awful irony and just let the Aussie choir sing.”
