Jake Bugg vindt One Direction afschuwelijk en volgens hem weet de boyband zelf ook dat ze dat zijn.

Jake Bugg heeft in een interview met Brits magazine ShortList zijn afkeer tegen One Direction uitgesproken. Hij walgt van de boyband en kan zich niet voorstellen dat ze zelf niet weten dat ze slecht zijn, aldus Bugg.

One Direction de nieuwe Beatles?

Jake Bugg vindt het belachelijk dat Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry en Louis de rocksterren van deze tijd worden genoemd. "Who the fuck is saying that they're the closest thing to rock stars we have these days? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have a good laugh. But it's easy to, isn't it? When you don't have to write any songs?"

Over de vergelijking met de Beatles windt Bugg zich nog het meest op. “People call them the new Beatles because they broke America, but that don’t mean a thing. Calling them the new rock stars is a ridiculous statement. And people should stop making it."
