Hun debuutalbum van Fall Out Boy is een demo uit 2001, die in eigen beheer wordt uitgebracht. Deze debuutcd wordt in 2002 gevolgd door een plaat waarop ook 'Project Rocket' te horen is. Hierna brengt de groep een minialbum uit getiteld Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out With Your Girl.

Coen en Sander riepen het nummer 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)' al uit tot SuperCrazyTurboTopHit en ook Michiel Veenstra is fan van de nieuwe Fall Out Boy. Het nummer is na vier jaar pauze van de band de eerste single van het nieuwe album dat op 15 april verschijnt. Het album is alweer de zesde in het oeuvre van Fall Out Boy en gaat Save Rock and Roll heten.

De band zette maandag 4 februari een bericht op hun site waaruit blijkt dat ze met het nieuwe album bezig waren: "When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save Rock And Roll..."
