Geen sex drugs en rock 'n roll voor Brandon Flowers

Brandon Flowers is te zien in een promovideo met de titel A Fire Still Burning. Daarin heeft hij over zijn Mormoonse geloof en hoe hij dat combineert met het leven als muzikant. Hij zegt dat het sex, drugs en rock’n roll-leven niets voor hem is.

"There are a lot of connotations that come along with pop music and rock music, and its usually sex driven or money driven. I realised early on that wasn't the road for me, maybe because of the foundations that were laid early on, or my mum and dad taking me to church."

Flowers haalt inspiratie uit geloof

De inspiratie voor zijn teksten haalt hij uit zijn geloof, vertelt Brandon. Hij denkt goed na over die teksten en wil dat mensen er positieve energie uit halen. "I've definitely even as I've gotten older gotten more cautious about lyrics. I feel like I want to be a positive force in the world and I want to uplift people."
